With the exception of the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ category, our panel has been asked to attach most importance to the past 12 months in judging the Awards.

You can choose to make a nomination in one, several or all categories. Please see the Award Categories and Rules and Procedures page for guidance about who can be nominated for each award and other information

All nominations must:

  • be accompanied by your contact details (to be entered at the bottom of the page)
  • be provided in the English language
  • include clear and precise reasons why your candidate would be a worthy winner of the particular award, in no more than 500 words for each nominee/category.

Dry Cargo Company of the Year

Greek companies owning or operating bulk carriers, containerships, freight ro-ros and any other category of dry cargo vessel.


Tanker Company of the Year

Greek companies owning or operating ships carrying any type of liquid and energy cargoes, including oil tankers, product tankers and gas carriers.


Passenger Line of the Year

Greek companies owning or operating passenger ferries or cruise vessels.


Shipbroker of the Year

Greek or non-Greek shipbroking firms active in the Greek marketplace, including companies undertaking S&P, chartering, newbuild contracting, demolition, FFAs or other types of brokerage.


Shipping Financier of the Year

Greek or non-Greek banks or other financial Institutions active in financing Greek shipping.


Technical Achievement Award

Meritorious technical achievement by Greek companies or individuals in any aspect of maritime activity, including but not limited to ship management, shipbuilding, safety, commerce, product or system development, design, studies.


The Safety Award

Any Greek company, individual, crew or other entity whose act, initiative or product has contributed to maritime safety, or whose overall performance merits recognition as an outstanding example of maritime safety culture.


Ship of the Year

New vessels of more than 1,000 gt, either built in Greece or delivered to Greek ownership, that are noteworthy in terms of design, innovation, investment or efficiency.


Piraeus International Centre Award

Greek or non-Greek companies (including but not limited to entities engaged in classification, legal, insurance, ship management, crewing, bunkering, auditing, marine, technical, communications, IT, or other services) that have demonstrated outstanding service to Greek shipping clients and/or an outstanding contribution to Greece as a maritime centre.


International Personality of the Year

Any NON-Greek personality (individual) involved in any aspect of shipping or the wider maritime world who has stood our during the previous 12 months in terms of contribution to Greek shipping or the maritime industries generally.


Award for Achievement in Education or Training

Institutions, companies, individuals or programmes that have delivered high value professional or academic training or education benefiting Greek shipping.


Lloyd's List Intelligence Big Data Award

Greek companies that have exemplified the benefits of digitalisation for innovation or efficiency. Non-Greek companies can also be considered if the beneficiary of the project is a Greek shipping business or an operation of the wider Greek maritime sector. Entries should demonstrate measurable results wherever possible. This Award will be judged by experts from Lloyd’s List Intelligence.


The Sustainability Award

Greek shipping companies, or other Greek maritime-related companies, that have integrated social and environmental sustainability principles into their operating culture and can demonstrate that transparency and ethics are part of their core values. Criteria may include, but will not be limited to, achievements in decarbonisation, enhanced energy management, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, waste management, health and safety management, and social responsibility initiatives. Entries should demonstrate measurable results wherever possible.


Deal of the Year

The Award will go to the person or company adjudged by the panel to have done the most successful and impressive single transaction in Greek shipping over the preceding year. A series of transactions may be considered by the judges if circumstances warrant. Transactions that have not yet closed may not be considered. Any kind of business deal within the maritime sector may be nominated, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, sales and purchases, or the conclusion of a very successful financing or very profitable charterparty. Wherever possible the exceptionality of the deal should be illustrated by identifying the benefits and advantages to the party to the transaction, or its expected benefits.


Next Generation Shipping Award

A young Greek shipping industry personality (40 years or younger at 31 December 2025) who has already achieved in his or her field of business. Nominations are welcome from any sector of the maritime industries.


Lloyd’s List / Propeller Club Lifetime Achievement Award

Any Greek individual or entity of Greek character with a record of achievement or contribution to Greek shipping during a substantial career.


Greek Shipping Personality of the Year

Any Greek personality (individual) involved in any aspect of shipping or the wider maritime world, who had stood out during the previous 12 months.
